La historia
I photographed this Cinnamon Attila (Attila cinnamomeus) at Nukak Eco Lodge in Puerto Concordia, Meta, Colombia, in febrero de 2021. Males and females look alike, with a deep rufous head, upperparts and tail and mostly cinnamon-rufous underparts. It is a bird of the Amazon and Orinoco basins, and its range includes the southeastern third of Colombia. A 2020 genetic study found that its closest relative is the Rufous-tailed Attila. It is 19.5 to 20.5 centimeters long and weighs 28 to 45 grams. It forages singly or in pairs, mostly in the mid-story, eating large arthropods along with small amphibians and fruit.
I used a Canon R5 with the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L for this one, at 1/180 sec, f/6.7, ISO 6400. IUCN lists the Cinnamon Attila as Least Concern.
