La historia
I photographed this Streaked Saltator (Saltator striatipectus) near El Rosario, in the Patía valley of Nariño, Colombia. It lives from Costa Rica to Peru in dry to moist woodland, scrub, brushy pastures and gardens, up to about 2,500 meters in Colombia. It feeds on insects, fruits, seeds, flowers and buds. It usually forages in pairs, sometimes in small groups, at all levels of its habitat. IUCN lists it as Least Concern. It is 19 to 20.5 centimeters long, and the sexes have the same plumage.
I made this frame with a Canon R5 and the RF 800mm f/11, at 1/350 sec, f/11, ISO 1600, +0,5 EV. In 2018, bird monitoring by the Humboldt Institute in the dry forests of Mercaderes, Taminango and El Rosario recorded 80 species.
